Our monthly meetings are usually held at Rainbow Park Observatory 301 Southern Blvd in Rio Rancho. The building is located behind Rainbow Park Pool (See map link above). The monthly meeting is usually on the Friday of the month that is between New Moon and First Quarter Moon, starting at 7:00 PM (8:00 PM during daylight savings time), and a public stargaze follows each meeting, weather permitting. The December meeting is held at various dates and locations. There are no meetings in June and July.
As well as our monthly events, the RRAS makes periodic trips to Chaco Culture National Park and El Morro National Monument, sungazes at various locations, stargazes at other locations when scheduled. Past stargazes have been at the Rio Rancho Public Library, Tamaya Hyatt Resort and Ft. Sumner State Monument, and Coronado State Monument. We've also made a field trip to the National Radio Observatory west of Socorro, NM and participated in the White Sands Star Party
